From the early age of 16 Mayke participated in masterclasses with André Navarra over several summers at the Accademia Chigiana in Siena. She won the Prize for the most Promising Playing. Meanwhile, she completed her study at the Conservatory of Utrecht cum laude (with honours).

Mayke studied simultaneously at the Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst with André Navarra (Detmold, DE) and with György Schiffer at the Conservatory in Tilburg (NL) where she passed

cum laude (with honours) for her Concert Degree.

In Vienna, Mayke studied at the Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst with André Navarra.

Mayke attended private classes with William Pleeth for half a year in London.  

Having been awarded a Fulbright Scholarship she attended classes with the famous Janos Starker in the United States. She participated in the Aspen Festival and was awarded an Artist Degree


Since then Mayke performed in Holland, Belgium, Spain, Austria, Italy, Norway, Germany, England, France, Greece, Russia and the US.

Mayke and pianist Matthijs Verschoor were awarded the silver medal by the Société Académique Arts-Sciences-Lettres in Paris for their dedication to French music.

Mayke stars as a regular guest in the Gauguin Ensemble

together with amongst others Eric Vloeimans &  Martin Fondse

Mayke starred and improvised in "Nocturnes" by Belgian composer Johan Hoogewijs


Mayke starred in the international project of Nepalese guitarist

Mayke starred as the soloist of the Reynders Consort

at Carré Amsterdam with Herman van Veen

Mayke starred in the Countdown-act of the Televizier Ring Gala '13
